By JustMina Natasha Raley has pinned all her hopes of creating a new life for her son on one bet at the roulette wheel.Finding herself homeless and way out of luck, she and her 10yr old son Tyler find themselves in having to make the best of things in a temporary room at a homeless shelter.A chance of a steady income and a new place to live is all they need, could their dire situation be a blessing in disguise?Adrian Tavonesi is trying to create something different at Casa Del Sole. He believes that having never worked for his privilege, the chance to use it to help others will make him accept what can sometimes be a burden.A chance meeting at a masquerade ball and the start of an anonymous relationship may prove that he really can find love without his wealth and status in society getting in the way.I loved this book! I know I have said that for every book in this series but honestly, I can’t help it.I love this book for the strength in Natasha, the fact that she is fiercely protective of her son, the way she will suffer many hardships to protect him and create the best upbringing she can. She is no quitter and that is something, as a Mum, I truly believe in.She is written with guts, highlighting how low life can get even if the fault lies elsewhere. The narrative is perfect.I always enjoy visiting with the Tavonesi family, not least because their family bond reminds me so much of my own Italian heritage. As much as each character is unique the ties to each other are evident throughout each book and that is one of the main elements that make this series work for me.As much as I enjoyed Adrian’s character Natasha (Tash) is truly the driving force in a story built around survival and trust. Not all relationships start in the easiest of circumstances and this books throws you into that realisation. Now don’t get me wrong, this book isn't all serious. There were moments where I was in fits of giggles too. In certain parts of the story Alex Tavonesi makes an appearance and in those precious moments when he shouts “Yo Adrian” I couldn't help but hear Rocky Balboa. That alongside the Italian link I couldn't help but wipe the tears from laughing so hard.I love that I can be surprised with surprising comedy moments. This book is tense, romantic and truthful, I couldn't hope for a better way to tell it.ARC Supplied for review.

Natasha has had some horrible experiences in life but the one thing she doesn't regret is her 10 year old son Tyler. Natasha lost all her money betting and now they are living in a homeless shelter. Natasha has dyslexia and it's hard for her to keep a job. The homeless shelter has a program that lands her the perfect job working at a Vineyard planting a garden for the kitchen. Natasha attends a masquerade party at the vineyard and meets a masked but very handsome man. She agrees to see him again but they decide to keep their true identities a secret. Adrian has just moved to California from Rome and he is part of the rich Tavonesi family. He doesn't like people to know he's wealthy because he thinks they will like him for his money. When he meets "Tasha" at the masquerade he is floored by her beauty. After a couple dates the truth is reveled that Natasha works for Adrian. Adrian doesn't care that Natasha doesn't come from money. Natasha doesn't want to get close to anyone but can't help falling for Adrian and his gentleman ways. More than anything Natasha is protective of her son. Tyler loves playing baseball so he is excited to have his mom involved in the Tavonesi family who have plenty of professional baseball players as friends and family members. Adrian and Natasha have a lot to learn with plenty of obstacles along the way.Another great romance by Pamela Aares. My favorite thing is how she switches from the two main characters perspectives. The Tavonesi Series is beyond wonderful and they are such a big family I look forward many more great stories to come.

The dark and dangerous swashbuckling musketeer, complete with his sinister black mask, meets the regal Renaissance Countess that dons a delicate piece of lace over her eyes. The rules of the evening are; no personal information about you may be shared with anyone. When these two meet and dance, their attraction is apparent. After a couple of dates, they decide to pursue a relationship. Each, for personal reasons, is hiding secrets from the other. The interesting component in this story is, if they had met under normal circumstances neither would have considered being a couple. I guess the old adage of being at the right place and the right time is true.Despite all this, once their private issues are revealed, their connection still may not survive.“Love in the Vineyard” was an excellent read that I simply could not put down. It was filled with emotional situations, adorable characters and to top it all off, the story-line was beguiling.Stephanie Lasley, from The Kindle Book ReviewThe Kindle Book Review received a free copy of this book for an independent, fair, and honest review. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. I loved it By Gatorfan Great, great story. I loved it. She was 45 and he was 40. He had an ex-wife and an autistic daughter. He was a very wealthy businessman and she a school teacher. At 19 she got pregnant and had a son which she raised on her own. I really enjoyed having older H&h's. There is just something about having life experiences that makes the love story different. He makes a great hero. Not perfect by any means but you love even his faults!!! He is definitely an OMG hero.I loved that their story is just that. Their story. It tells his thoughts and hers. It was all about their coming together. Of course, there are some asses in the story. Her sister for one. But their parts are very small and the main characters deal with them.I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it. You leave the characters feeling good and happy for them and maybe a little jealous. Don't pass this one up.

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Just Right By Bama Girl The romance was just the right blend of tender and passionate. Abby and Grant will have you cheering for them along their journey. Grant is a strong, confident hero but with Abbey and his daughter with autism, his gentle, vulnerable side comes through.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Really Worth It!!! By Kindle Customer Finally an adult romance. Who would have thought that you could find a love connection at your son's wedding. After she got out of her own way, she found a risk worth taking.

Bridging literary and women’s fiction, Forty One is a sophisticated, multi-layered contemporary novel that invites reflection and discussion. With a compelling character-driven story exploring issues such as relationships, economic class, identity, religion and sex, Forty One is both thought-provoking and emotionally charged, perfect for book groups. Readers with an interest in literature and philosophy will also find a tantalising intellectual side – hidden meta-fiction and subtext built on word play – but the book’s sharp attention to language and beautiful writing will appeal to all. Eva Holden is stuck, middle age a series of the same endless tasks; she’s wondering where life’s going and what it’s all about. Although she agreed to the ‘Plan’ -- her husband Harry working abroad for a year to secure financial security – she feels abandoned at home with the children and unsure the bargain is worth it. Even if the Holdens are able to stick to the Plan as the financial world teeters on collapse, Eva’s worried the premise might be wrong, the idea itself absurd: a Polish wife and mother fighting for family life in England, while the English lawyer, head of household, counts his days in Poland. Wasn’t the point of marriage building a life together? Do they need the money anyway? How much is enough? When Eva’s ex-lover Xavier appears on the scene, he presents an all too easy escape. Eva wrestles with her conscience and emotional debts and doubts, but still she’s drawn in. When the Holdens head to Poland at Christmas, Eva encounters another ex and more past problems, unleashing a chain of dramatic events. Back in England, Eva realises that neither abstract strategies nor words can save her. Trusted mantras, advice from family and friends, even the supposed wisdom of philosophy and religion, are only guidance. In making peace with herself and her muddled history, Eva must confront bigger obstacles and a tougher test of character: illness, death, and in the end, a new life, which requires even greater changes for her, Harry and the children.

By read-along-with-sue I think this story would appeal to us middle aged bracket women who feel they are in a rut. You get to that age where all seems like drudgery and hard work and you forget about the rewards and achievements you have reached and what you have gains by experience and attained.A "plan" is drawn up between herself and her husband, to work abroad and gain some financial security while she stays home rearing the kids and seeing to their home. But as we know, all the best laid plans.............I read the long blurb on this and was expecting more than what I got I think. There is an awful lot in this book, maybe a little too much with her coming into contact with two of her exes? One would have been enough for her to struggle over I thought. You may enjoy it, so don't be put off with my review because on the whole is was well written but I just think with the long blurb I was expecting much more than I got.My thanks go to Cameron Publicity & Marketing Ltd via Net Galley for my copy.

Well, who's gonna be laughing when the power goes out?? Maybe me, if I happen to realize the power is out when I wouldn't be studying anyway. There's an ebook. Get the ebook.

About the Author

I tended to ignore the early signs that I was meant to be a writer. My fifth grade teacher singled out my writing. In sixth grade, an essay I wrote about my imaginary travels to France was printed in the local newspaper. I placed second in a national essay contest when I was fifteen. And I wrote a weekly column, "Teen Talk," for that same paper, the Burlington Hawk-Eye (Burlington, Iowa), when I was in high school. My dad was a carpenter and later a painter for the local hospital. My mother worked outside the home from the time I entered grade school primarily in secretarial jobs. I wanted to be the second in my family to get a bachelor's degreee (my uncle got his bachelor's degree in chemistry), but it took awhile to pick a major because I liked and did well in almost all my coursework. I graduated from Burlington Community College, now Southeastern Iowa Area Community College with an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts. I then went on to the University of Iowa to complete my bachelors. I majored first in Anthropology, because the study of different cultures fascinated me, but switched to American History when I learned that postgraduate work in Anthropology would probably include field work at sites that weren't air-conditioned and didn't have my diet cola handy. But with a degree in American History, you either had to teach it or make it. While I worked on my Masters Degree in American History at Drake University, I taught World History and Western Civilization to community college students on a part-time basis, but with no full-time positions available, I hitched my wagon to the wheels of government, and, like "the man who came to dinner," stayed on long after I went from probationary to permanent. But cutting-edge legislation, essential public services, and policy development weren't for me. I wound up in human resources analyzing jobs. I loved it. Behind the usual complaints about their bosses, most people take pride in how they earn a living. Ask them a few basic questions about what they do, and you find yourself taking page after page of notes. And more times than not, somewhere in that exchange they tell you how unique their job is from all the others. I now use that interest in the jobs people do in my writing, even subtitling my website, "Romance at Work." I avoided a midlife crisis when I discovered fiction writing. Actually it was the character of a romance writer on a daytime drama that inspired me to consider this particular genre. If I'm being honest, it was the glamour and acclaim that had me writing those first words. A few thousand words later, the quest for glamour and acclaim had long faded, but along the way, I discovered my passion. Even though I liked my day job, I'd finally found what I was meant to do. That drive kept me going for the next several years through numerous rejections, low contest scores and a bout with breast cancer. I probably would have given up after the first few years of writing, had I not joined Romance Writers of America and begun to learn my craft and more about the publishing business and gained the support of a huge network of writers fulfilling their dreams the same way. I am currently a member of the SpaceCoasT Authors of Romance, Kiss of Death Mystery/Suspense and Scriptscene chapters of RWA. In 2004, I chaired KoD's first writers' retreat in Pensacola Beach, Florida and continued in that role to plan retreats in San Antonio, Texas in 2006 and Omaha, Nebraska in 2007. In 2010 and 2011 I chaired the KOD Pre-Conferences in Orlando, Florida and New York City. I currently serve as KOD's website liaison. I married Veryl Kroon after meeting him in dormitory resident advisor training my senior year at the University of Iowa. e have two grown children, Leslie and Christopher, and six grandchildren. I'm a movie buff who still has aspirations of writing screenplays someday. My interests include interior design and cooking, so spare time is spent watching HGTV and the Food Network, when I'm not dabbling in those areas myself. I am now a resident of Florida and live there half the year (in the shadow of the Mouse). The other part of the year I'm in Waukee, Iowa, just west of Des Moines. Since moving to Florida, I've learned to play Mah Jongg and have recently introduced the game to my Iowa friends.

The premise of the story is very interesting, and caught my attention right away as I began reading.Reese is a "twice bitten" chef. She's being blacklisted by her last boss because she walked out during the dinner rush -- but only after she found out the promotion she'd been promised was given to someone with far less experience.Nick is an actor; he's currently "acting" as a chef on a cable access cooking show. He's only doing the show until it gets picked up by a network, at which point his aunt is supposed to take over as host. The problem, however, is two-fold: 1) Nick can't boil water, and 2) his aunt won't step in and take over so he can get back to his real passion -- acting. Nick hires Reese as a production assistant, seeing in her his replacement on his aunt's show -- even though the name of the show is And He Cooks, Too.Reese senses there's something a little "off" about Nick and his show, but can't deny there's an attraction between them; there's the distrust. Nick is equally attracted to Reese, and knows how she feels about dishonesty, but doesn't know how to come clean with her; there's the deception. And then there's Nick's Aunt Leonie...I have to admit, I didn't like her at all. I found her selfish and shallow and -- did I mention selfish? Yes, she stepped in and raised Nick when his mother left, but as a mother myself, I don't believe my children owe me a debt of servitude when they grow up. Let him live his life already! And it bothered me that she never really did apologize to Nick and Reese -- not completely.So...to summarize...loved the story, hated Aunt Leonie!

A fine romance By Amazon Customer This romance has all the missed communication leading to heartbreak coupled with the heat pulling together that you could ask for. But the conflict is well handled. In other books you often want to shout at the protagonists, "Just talk and work this out", but in "And He Cooks Too" the deception that keeps them apart is integral to the plotting and builds the tension. A great romantic read.

The author does a fine job of capturing your interest from the start with an interesting and current topic plot. It will be interesting and hopefully there will be a sequel from the threads that are available for another tv - cooking show twist and turn plot which I could see as a mystery/whodunit.

For PR guru–turned–advice columnist Waverly Bryson, life is pretty sweet. She has an amazing job, a devoted boyfriend, and the best friends a girl could hope for. Things couldn’t possibly be better ― or so she thinks ― until she receives an offer to turn her popular advice column into a regular guest spot on national television. The new gig means moving cross-country to New York to work for a woman who can’t stand her, not to mention leaving her best friends Andie and McKenna behind while still missing her already-too-long-distance boyfriend, Jake. But Waverly wouldn’t be Waverly if she didn’t tackle these challenges head on, with all the zeal, good humor, and, yes, occasional catastrophe that devoted fans have come to expect from “the American Bridget Jones.” Witty, lighthearted, and fun, Honey on Your Mind is Waverly Bryson at her irrepressible best!

Honey on Your Mind (Waverly Bryson), by Maria Murnane

Review "A wonderful summer read about a woman who triumphs...and still finds love along the way." -- RT Reviews, 4 stars

About the Author Maria Murnane left a successful career as a public relations executive to pursue a more fulfilling life as a novelist and speaker. Her own “story behind the story” is an entertaining tale of the courage, passion, and perseverance required to get her first novel, Perfect on Paper, published. (The sequel, It’s a Waverly Life, was published in 2011.) Maria graduated with high honors in English and Spanish from the University of California-Berkeley, where she was a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar. She also holds a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University. She lives today in New York City.

Unfortunately I hadn't read the previous two in the series and definitely feel the diconnect between the reader and the characters. I can see how people that are familiar with the storyline and the main characters would enjoy Honey On Your Mind but I felt like I was just reading some of the same stuff over and over; Waverly's lack of sleep, shipping her products at the post office, and her seeing very little of her long distance boyfriend Jake. I did like the twist of Waverly's boss, her husband, and Paige but other than that I felt like there wasn't enough substance to the storyline. I would suggest not reading this as a stand alone book but if you think you'd like it, start with the first two to have a better appreciation for the sotryline and characters. Otherwise you'll end up feeling like the book is a just ok read.

This is her third book featuring Waverly Bryson as our intrepid heroine.Waverly has grown up quite a bit over the previous novels. In this book, she is moving to New York to begin her career as a features reporter on a national talk show. She is also starting her own merchandising featuring her Honey cards.Waverly is still dating Jake, who still lives in Atlanta. At least they're in the same time zone now.The book is an easy beach read, but just so well-done. I found myself cheering Waverly on, as she finally was making some good decisions. I enjoyed every character in the book, including some old ones (Waverly's best friends Andie and McKenna) as well as new ones (Paige, Andie's cousin). If you've been following this series, I highly recommend it. Actually, I recommend it as a stand alone as well. Great job Maria!

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Best one yet By Jaycemom I've been enjoying Maria Murnane's Waverly Bryson series and pre-ordered "Honey on Your Mind". It arrived the day before I left for vacation, which made me very happy. I thought this was Maria's best novel in the series. Her character and plot development was stronger and held my interest longer than the first two novels. I wasn't quite sure how Waverly's personal and business plans were going to pan out in the end. Maria did a nice job of keeping me guessing while keeping it real. My reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5 was the sometimes forced dialog between her best friends. I agree with other reviews that seemed to tire of Andy's jabs about motherhood. Other than that I really enjoyed the book. Finished it within days. I will continue to follow Maria Murnane's writing career with or without Waverly Bryson. I admire Maria's personal story. She took a risk I'm not sure I would have had the courage to do in pursuit of her dreams to become a writer. I have to respect that.
