3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Waiting for Ethan was Worth the Wait!! By Anne M Miller Waiting for Ethan is Diane Barnes' first published novel and I heartily recommend this book! I found it to be very well written with likeable characters and a good storyline. Each character was well developed, providing me with clear visual images. I found Gina to be very relatable, flaws and all, and I rooted for her throughout the novel. I did not want to put this book down once I started reading it! I look forward to Diane's next novel.

In fact, I read it in one sitting because it kept me interested the whole way through! The story kind of reminds me of an old favorite that I read a long time ago called Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married by Marian Keyes, which is really cool. Overall, this is a really sweet read but with a little added drama and moments when you want the main character to wake up. This adds to the realism of the book though because we all have our moments when we wish life could just be smooth and everything would fall into place. For Gina, she has been waiting a very long time for her Ethan and when he gets here, there are some struggles to overcome. Do we stay with something because were comfortable? Or do we do what our heart tells us?All in all, I really enjoyed this read and I would recommend it to fellow readers. Its highly enjoyable, fast paced, imaginative, and cute. In the future I will def. be looking for more books by the author! The writing style is wonderful, the plot is interesting and fun, and the characters are real and likeable. Awesome book - pick it up!

I promise you won't want to put it down. A perfect beach read!
