About the Author Thais Navarrete Aulestia, psicóloga venezolana egre- sada de la Universidad Central de Venezuela con especialidades en Terapia Gestalt, del Instituto Venezolano Gestalt y Dinámica de Grupos del Centro Autónomo de Desarrollo Docente, CADES. Posee una maestría en Terapia de Familia y Niños, del California Family Study Center en Los Angeles; e Hipnoterapia del Centro Integral de Hipnoterapia en Miami, Florida. Thais funda el Centro de Atención Integral a la Familia (CAIF) en la Clínica El Ávila, en Caracas, Venezuela. Reside desde 1993 en Miami, Florida, donde dirigió un programa para pacientes psiquiátricos, impartió terapia de grupos para la tercera edad, talleres de crecimiento personal para niños y adultos, y actualmente atiende por consulta privada.

Beware of addictive reading material... : -) By Daniel Perez I was given this book as a gift and wanted to read it because had heard great comments about it. From past experiences, I tend to get a bit bored with books in Spanish for some reason so I was a bit reluctant to begin reading it. Little did I know when I started reading the story about a girl from Cuba who became a very successful "bolerista" that it would capture my attention page after page, chapter after chapter. For those of you that always like to read nonstop, this book from Thais Navarrate certainly kept me reading 'til very late hours at night. Hope you find this book intriguing and passionate, and that will connect you with Latin roots as well as to inspiring boleros.....enjoy!

Entras en la vida de Esperanza desde el principio y quieres saber qué le depara la vida, cómo lo supera y el gran misterio de su madre. Sus boleros con cautivadores y despiertan recuerdos y sentimientos. Sus amores te hacen reflexionar sobre el amor y cómo escogemos nuestras parejas. Lo recomiendo a todos que le intriguen los secretos y les guste un poco la historia de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, ya que la época en la que toma lugar la historia y la historia de Cuba, Miami, Nueva York etc están tejidos en la historia de una manera enriquecedora. ¡Espero que disfruten!

The style of writing is easy and very nice. It kept me reading it to the end in a short time. I love the way in which Esperanza expressed her emotions and feelings with her songs (Boleros). This book gave me a window to explore the lives and secrets of the members of a family and a mirror to reflect our own lives in similar situations.
