This is a light hearted romance novel with religious undertones. It touches upon interracial relationships, submissiveness and the influences that our family and friends have on the decisions that we make. The story centers around two main characters, Rhonda and Ross. They were prepared to face the obstacles that somehow managed to continue to exist around her being African American and he, a Caucasian. They began a courtship that progressed quickly and inevitably moved in with one another. After talking to her friends, Rhonda questioned some of Ross' requests and began to feel as though she would be giving too much to him if she complied. After all they were not married. Fuel was added to the fire, because Ross incidentally saw her accept a small kiss from an old heartthrob. How could he not be angry? After she refuses to comply with his wishes, he goes to a bar and runs into Mer'lys, his former fiancé's twin sister. Is the tatter in his relationship with Rhonda enough to send him reeling to a familiarity? They do some catching up and innocently start spending time together. The ties that contribute to their friendship add to their comfortness and they begin to fall in love leaving Rhonda alone with her doubts. She continued to solicit advice from her friends and family and none of it was the same. At the end, she tried to find a solution that would bring his mind, body and soul home again without feeling like he's made a fool out of her.

About the Author Rebeka Seven is an educator who works in Oklahoma. As a hobby, she wrote her first novel and instead of keeping her passion to herself, she decided to publish Sweet Vibrato. She is an alumnae of one of the largest historical black universities located in Louisiana.

There is always something going on and it takes you to a lot of different places. The side bars with Tess are great. She gives an insight that we don't need to determine. She just says it and she's funny while doing it. Otherwise some of her comments might be slightly offensive. I found myself wanting to flip to the end to find out if Rhonda and Ross stayed together through all of their conflicts. All relationships have conflicts and I don't think theirs are so different. The story effects you in a way that makes you look at yourself. For everyone, there is a limit to what he or she can or will do. I really wanted her to give in, but then again.... They weren't married. I think that since they had done so much together already, she should have stood by her man. I Know she wanted to.

Then it was funny while it kept me wondering what was going to happen next. The author seems like she was trying to make the dude all nice and at first he was, but then he changed. He still kinda seemed like a cool guy, but I think some of the stuff he did was rank. I know what it's like to not want to be nobody's fool, so I know how the girl felt. They could have both given in just a little. This is real life, too. Anytime we get involved with a dude too fast, there are surprises at every turn.
