From the Author I enjoyed writing about Lauren and Jackson and their friends and families. Characters in a book come to be real to the author and hopefully to the reader for the short time they spend with them. This story continues in the new title, LOVES TENDER HEART, coming soon to Amazon.
About the Author Mary's home is in rural Oklahoma, nestled in the Red River valley. She writes fun, happy-ever after fiction. Creating people and places with no limits allows her to roam the world where money is never a consideration to her characters. When asked why her characters are always healthy, wealthy and beautiful, Mary explains, "If I wanted reality I'd write non-fiction." She smiles. "And a lack of funds is so restricting! I have wonderful family and friends around me and the fact that I create make-belief worlds is really not a problem for me, or them. " Mary writes short stories as well as her full length novels. Lauren and Jackson won my heart with their unique, sweet personalities. Mary Hicks does a great job dropping the reader into the small town and country setting. I felt as if I was following along behind the characters, living their heartaches and happiness as if they were my own. A must read for anyone with a tender heart.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Winslow steals the show By j.r. Lauren and her dog, Winslow, relocate to Valley City to fulfill Lauren's desire to live in the country. Winslow has a great personality that makes him come alive. Many circumstances come together over time that result in two marriages. Lauren gains not only the house she wanted but a husband, daughter, family, and second dog who is a Winston look alike.. Some plot points are a little too convenient to be totally believable but overall it is a sweet story with a happy ending.
